DH said he will take the lead to tell DD about the baby. And I left it to him. He went 1 big round, took quite some time, got the gal bored and started fidgeting around, gave her a big scolding and still have not gotten the message across. Sigh!
But finally, I took over and told her outrightly that we are having a baby! Her face was a bewildered look! Think she did not register the news yet. I tried sometime later again. 'XX, you are gonna be a big sister soon!' Her response is 'Why?'. Ha, still not registered yet. Told her she cannot tell anybody our secret until July. She acknowledged. Not a lot of screaming and squealing or smiles from her about the news, but she seemed to be taking it in her stride.
